Counselling and conditions it may help
Counselling is a talking therapy. It is not about me telling my client what to do, rather supporting them on their journey of self-exploration in a holistic manner. I work to help raise awareness of negative thought processes, self-destructive behaviour and fixed/rigid patterns of ways in which my clients may relate to the world. As a Gestalt therapist I provide a safe environment where my clients are able to explore in the knowledge that they will not be judged or rejected with the aim of raising self-awareness in the here and now, promoting autonomy and supporting their choice to change. I feel greater self awareness can promote happier and more balanced mental health.
I firmly believe that a good therapeutic relationship is key to the counselling process and with this in mind I offer an initial 30 minute consultation free of charge. I feel this gives potential clients the opportunity to meet me and decided whether they feel comfortable working with me and that I am the right choice of counsellor for them at this time in their life.
